Keeping signals apart

Two shapes that share an edge join into one. Shapes that meet only at a corner break a design rule, so leave an empty square between separate paths.

Guide

  1. Connect A to Y.
  2. Connect B to Z. Keep an empty square between the two paths everywhere.

Hint

Shapes on one layer join wherever their edges touch, and the design rules do not allow two shapes to meet only at a corner. Leave at least one empty square between the paths.

Solution

This is the game's reference drawing for the puzzle. It meets the goal and passes the design rules. Other drawings can pass as well.
